I realized with my dry skin I'm always telling you guys about hydrating masks or radiance masks for sallow, dull skin. I love both of those so much. The hydrating masks give me the much needed moisturization and the radiance masks brighten my skin brilliantly but sometimes I only feel like doing a mask just to firm my skin. I've come to realize that the best masks to firm are masques that harden and the former usually are still kind of soupy when you remove them. So when I want to firm I head straight for a clay mask that is typically used for oily or blemished skin.

SkinCeuticals has always been one of my all time favorite brands and I would never be without my CE Ferulic serum and quite a few other SkinCeuticals Correct products!  But when it comes to counting on firming up my skin I also use a SkinCeuticals product that wasn’t particularly formulated for firming.

SkinCeuticals Clarifying Clay Masque was actually formulated for the treatment of blemished, congested and oily skin. It's used to lift impurities from the pores (which it does extremely well), diminish pore size, lift away dead skin cells, soaks up excess oil, and wipes out acne and blemishes brilliantly. But that's not why I use it. I mean I love minimizing the size of my big ole stretched out pores and pulling off a ton of dead skin cells but my favorite reason for using it is the firming effect I discovered merely by accident.

I didn't get enough sleep one night and had a really important next day. I searched my drawers for a mask that was specifically used to firm up and tone the elasticity of the skin and didn't have a single one. I came across the SkinCeuticals Clarifying Masque and thought it would have to do. Besides I remember using a hardening mask as a professional firming treatment years ago so I thought just maybe I'd have at least a fraction of that same result. What I discovered was amazing. My skin was so firm and radiant that I just couldn't believe it. I used it just today for that specific purpose and once again was not let down. My skin firmed up beautifully and I told myself I just have to tell my blog readers about this cool little secondary use of product.
