Juara Skincare for your Hair? Go figure!
OK…that was weird! I just had the most bizarre beauty encounter (for lack of a better word) I think I’ve ever had!
I’ve been so overwhelmed with work, house, finances and a rocky love life that I was getting no sleep and it’s almost as if all that stress was coming out of every pore and follicle in my body. Yes, follicle! My hair looked so dingy and dull and the texture completely felt like it couldn’t have been my own hair.
I have a few favorite life saving hair treatment masks that I’m sure I’ve told you about before but I had none today. Problem is I love conditioning masks and so I use them much more frequently than directed. So when I’m out I can really tell when I reach for some other random conditioner that my hair doesn’t feel or look the same. But more than that is the look of it this particular morning. If they needed a model for frizzy, unmanageable, dry and dull hair they could have used me today! But as I said I seriously believe the stress was the major cause. I guess it would make sense…one can certainly see the effects of free radical damage from stress on their skin so I suppose it could happen to your hair as well. I just had never thought of it that way before.
So as I was tearing through my drawers trying to scrape out any empty jars of hair treatments but to no avail, I knew I had to be creative. So many of the beauty tips I’ve learned and shared over the years have been from experimenting or trying one thing and by mistake learning another.
As I was putting on my life saving facial mask (face was showing the ill effects as well; in case I forgot to mention that!) I thought to myself “Hmmm…I wonder what would happen if I also applied my Juara Skincare Avocado Banana Moisture Mask to my dry hair and leave it on while the mask was on my face?” I figured it’s not like it could hurt. And besides my hair was begging for moisture (and the word's in the name) and the mixture looked pretty much like any hair treatment I’ve ever used…So I did!
Well as I was rinsing it out I loved how my hair felt. Additionally, it looked really clean and exfoliated…even really light in color even though it was wet. Usually my blonde hair looks much darker when it’s wet but this time it looked bright. Also I accidentally pulled a single hair and it kind of stretched. I thought it was kind of creepy like something was wrong with it but quickly realized the product actually fortified the tensile strength as opposed to just breaking right off where I had pulled it. I was excited and loved the way it looked right at the outset but when I started to blow dry…not so much! It felt dry and I wondered if the minerals in the bananas were too heavy for hair or something. Still I hoped. I stopped blow drying it and squirted a little Phillip B Lovin Leave In Conditioning Crème (my favorite because it’s lightweight) hoping that it would help but even still I just thought to myself…well at least I’m not going anywhere and I knew I could tell you guys about it even though at that point I figured I’d be telling you a horror story.
So I marched on and went ahead and took the flat iron to it feeling like that was about my only hope. Looked in the mirror and it was ok but not great. I went and got a glass of water, made my bed and grabbed a clip to put my hair up and back and when I walked back into the bathroom on that second take I saw brilliant golden locks! I have no idea why or how…but it looked great about ten minutes after the whole disaster. It’s soft and silky and I love it! I know this sounds too crazy to be real…but it’s the absolute truth. It really made my hair gorgeous; but only after a little bit of patience. Well that and that little squirt of Phillip B!
I guess it turns out that my hocus pocus beauty potions still have a little magic! Ya gotta try it!
