When a tooth whitenening gel directs use via a cotton swab I've found it much easier to use a child's size toothbrush (obviously very gently). It makes for extra precise application of product. Additionally I've found I can more easily get it to the back of my front teeth as well as the front of them. Keep in mind that there are whitening products where this wouldn't apply such as when use is with a tray or an applicator is included in or attached to the product. You would also only do as directed by your dentist if you were whitening under his or her care.

Also, a child's sized toothbrush works wonders just for regular brushing. My Mom's dental hygienist told her about brushing with one and gives her a new child sized brush with every cleaning.
