Ingredients that Work

Ingredients are about the single most important thing one needs to know about when it comes to selecting and using beauty products. Ingredients which are formulated into your moisturizers, body products, shampoos and any other cosmetic or beauty product you think of can either make or break your cosmetic and beauty preparations. Basically if you want the very best product that is perfect for your individualized needs, wants, indications, results and desires you must always check the coveted ingredients list of any skin, hair, cosmetic, body or any other product you are considering purchasing.

Before (or after) reading customer reviews, or seeing a commercial or infomercial of a cosmetic you just absolutely have to have…be sure and check that ingredients list to be sure that what you really want in your product has it in there and where it is placed  within the list. The higher it is on the list, the more of that ingredient it has. So for instance, if you’re searching for a product that contains soothing aloe, see where it’s positioned on the list. If it’s up high on the list you can be certain there is quite a bit of the ingredient aloe that you’re looking for in that particular product; whereas another aloe containing product may have it down lower on the list suggesting that there is not as much of that particular ingredient formulated into that particular product.

However, keep in mind that quantity doesn’t always mean potency. For example, say you’re looking for a potent retinol formulated product. One product might show retinol up high on the list…leading you to believe it’s a stronger retinol product (which certainly may be true…but not always); rationale being that the retinol they use may be a less potent form of retinol where as another brand may use a stronger percentage retinol and place it lower on the list…This would be an example of a time when lower…might equal or be even better than the lower percentage aloe located high on the list.

Hope this helps you in finding and locating the perfect beauty product specific for your individualized needs.
