Are rubies better than diamonds?

Hmmmm... good question.

 In terms of jewelry...I would love either one...but we all know a diamond is a girl's best friend. However, in skin care diamond dust seems a little too harsh due it being the hardest mineral on earth...therefore it makes sense that ruby dust would probably be the better choice. However for files and things of that nature...diamonds rock in the beauty world.
