Just curious...because for years...botox wasn't supposed to be used below the cheekbones...but now it's used in areas such as the lips and the neck. Any thoughts?

I've had it for the lines above my lips but it always feels weird...like a bandage is stuck there. LOL

I know they refer to that area as a "Botox Lip Augmentation" however it doesn't actually make the lips appear augmented...correct? Just lessens the lines?

By the way...My best friend says that when she gets Botox in her lower face, her food gets caught in the space between her lower jaw and her cheek. Has anyone else ever have that happened? I'm not sure what to tell her...but on one hand it makes sense that there would be some sort of paralysis in the area...but that seems a little too frustrating to be worth it.

Oh yeah...that does happen. It feels really strange and can be quite embarrassing on a dinner date!

 Does it get caught because you lose feeling or because there's sagging? That's very strange.

I assumed it's just because the toxin actually paralyzes muscle movement which then prevents the actual normal chewing process.

Has anyone tried dysport?

Dysport is also a botulism type preparation for relaxing lines and wrinkles. They say it costs less than Botox (however it requires more units per use) and that it lasts longer...however, I'm not quite sure that it has caught on anywhere near to the degree as Botox. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Or perhaps willing to share your experiences with either injectable?
